Cheap beer in Koreatown
Koreatown drinks vertically. The bars on 32nd Street and the blocks around it are stacked on second and third floors — karaoke rooms, pool halls, Korean bars and lounges — and beer is usually ordered alongside food or a room rather than at a bar rail. Prices start higher than the surrounding Manhattan neighborhoods and the range is compressed, with several venues charging a flat price across their whole beer list. Happy hour follows the late schedule of the neighborhood rather than the office one: the windows here open in the evening and run toward closing, not from four to seven.
