About Cheapest Beer NYC
A map of New York City's cheapest beers, ranked by how close they are to you and how little they cost β happy-hour aware.
What this is
Cheapest Beer NYC answers one question: where's the closest cheap beer right now? Open the map and it finds you, then ranks nearby bars by distance and beer price. The cheapest option glows. If a bar's happy hour is live, its price updates to match. No account, no app to install β just the map.
How we source prices
We build our list from public sources β bar menus, happy-hour listings, socials, and local press. One important caveat about the price we show: it's simply whatever that bar sells a beer for. We don't standardize on a common size or pour β a "beer" might be a 12 oz can at one spot and a 16 oz draft at another. We do this for simplicity, and it means the list is a rough guide to cheap beer near you, not a strict apples-to-apples comparison. That said, these are real beer prices β every listing is accurate to the best of our knowledge, records where the price came from, and notes roughly how confident we are in it. Prices change constantly, so treat everything here as a starting point and call ahead or check the bar directly.
What a listing tells you
Each listing is a small research record, not a review or an endorsement. Where we have it, we show the regular beer price, a short note about the pour or special, happy-hour windows, and the public source used to verify the information. A visible source is there so you can make your own call: menus change, an Instagram post can expire, and a bartender always has the last word. We do not accept payment to move a bar up the rankings or to alter a listed price.
How the map ranks nearby options
When you choose to share your location, the map combines distance with the best price we currently have for each nearby bar. During a listed happy-hour window, the happy-hour price can take priority over the regular price; outside it, the regular price is used. The result is meant to answer a practical question, not declare a citywide champion: a slightly pricier beer around the corner can be more useful than the absolute lowest price on the other side of town. You can switch to the list view to browse the current results without navigating the map.
We intentionally do not score a barβs atmosphere, food, service, or beer selection. Those are personal judgments, and this project is about making price and location information easier to find. For a fuller explanation of the tradeoffs behind the data, see how the map works; for advice on comparing pours and specials, read the NYC beer price guide.
Keeping it accurate
NYC nightlife moves fast β bars close, hours shift, happy hours get cut. Every listing on the map has a "report a correction" button, and those reports feed directly back into our data. Useful corrections include a current menu link, the date you saw a price, a changed happy-hour schedule, or notice that a venue has closed. We review reports before changing a listing; that extra step helps keep one-off deals and honest mistakes from becoming permanent data.
