Cheap beer in Garment District
The Garment District drinks around Penn Station and the Port Authority, and the bar list is exactly what that implies: Irish pubs and taphouses built for a crowd with a train to catch, plus a few hotel rooftops on the northern edge. Prices sit in the middle of the Midtown range with a tight cluster of pubs at the bottom. Happy hour here starts early and runs long — several windows open at or before noon and hold until seven — which is the commuter-bar signature, and a couple of the bars run it all seven days.
